The Devil Inside

1) Media Forms:
What techniques does this trailer have to persuade the audience to watch this film?

They use flashing images to attract the viewers. Slow text appearing to engage the viewers into the trailer. They also use a script of two people talking to make it seem real. The flashing images are also not shown in order to create the viewer to want to know exactly what is happening and this increases the viewer’s desire to watch the movie. Furthermore the fact that in the beginning of the trailer it states that it was a real '911' call, placed from the home of Maria Rossi' brings realism which also persuades its audience to watch this film as they would beleive it is a true story and would want to know more about the film as the trailer has not given a full insight to what the film is about.

2) Media Representations:
How is Maria Rossi represented in this trailer?

Well she is represented right from the beginning as someone who is obsessed with a devil. She is shown in a few scenes as just a normal woman but as flashing images start to appear we see that she has a Devil in side of her. Moreover the fact that she is locked up is suggesting to us that she is not a normal person and is not safe around others and is seen as a liability.

3) Media Audiences:
Who are the target audience for this film?

The target audience of this film would be 16 and over, due the fact that the movie is a horror movie and not suitable for young children. Both genders are targeted at the film. The movie does not segregate genders.

4) Media Institutions:
How may this trailer raise criticism?

The way that this trailer may cause criticism is the fact that it should not be released on all channels, for example this trailer should only be released on channels where young children would not come across to as there are over rated scenes which may cause children to be distraught.
